In response to opposition from separate pleas issued by privacy advocates and general counsel of 30 different companies, pushback from the White House and some house Democrats is stalling progress on a cybersecurity bill drafted by the Senate Intelligence Committee.
The 48-page draft of the bill aims “to improve cybersecurity in the United States through enhanced sharingof information about cybersecurity threats, and for other purposes.” It was circulated last week by the panel’s chairman, Sen. Richard Burr (R.-N.C.) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)
