IBM announced on April 2 the availability of IBM Verse, new social messaging software as a service that incorporates built-in search and data analytics to give users a new way to quickly communicate with the people and information important to their work day.

IBM Verse results from Big Blue’s $100 million investment in a new messaging platform, according to the public release. The SaaS product merges email, calendars, file sharing, instant messaging, social networks and more into a single collaborative, cloud-based environment.
