In 2014, Stinson Morrison Hecker combined with Leonard, Street and Deinard, creating the Am Law 200 firm Stinson Leonard Street with nearly 500 attorneys in 14 office locations.
It was Deb Rifenbark, information governance professional, certified records manager, and director of records and compliance for Stinson Leonard, who foresaw the firm’s strategic need to migrate to an electronic matter file. It began with the triple threat faced by all firms: a records department that had reached maximum staff capacity, an exponential growth path for the information produced at and incoming to the firm, and the increasingly competitive need for attorneys’ to quickly access the information.
