New versions of ransomware are causing concern among information technology pros
One, a strain of ransomware called “Locker” was dormant until midnight on May 25, but reached employee workstations earlier. “Locker then started to wreak havoc in a massive way said an alert from KnowBe4, a security software provider and consultant. Another recent mutation of the software, poses as a warning from the FBI in response to visits to adult sites.
