The co-creator of a sophisticated malware has been sentenced to 57 months in prison.

The defendant, Alex Yucel, 25, formerly of Sweden, was identified as the owner and controller of the “Blackshades” organization. Under his direction, the malware, formally known as the Blackshades Remote Access Tool, or “RAT,” let cybercriminals remotely control computers and steal information.
