Given the number of massive breaches and other privacy-related issues taking place globally, there are new policy initiatives in the works, particularly in Europe. The proposals reflect the new reality found in companies as far as data privacy.

“Legal and IT departments can no longer view data privacy concerns in a silo or as the responsibility of just one department. Data privacy programs should be proactively developed and managed as a holistic and comprehensive enterprise initiative,” said Jason Parkman, CEO of Mitratech, in a statement.
