More than 5,500 applications have recently been sent into fTLD Registry Services to get a .BANK domain.
Applications for .BANK Web addresses are verified by Symantec as part of the domain’s enhanced security requirements, fTLD Registry Services said. By so doing, banks and other organizations, which were seen as eligible for a .BANK name, are given one.
