Judiciary officials in Texas say an ambitious, multi-year effort to update the state’s electronic court filing system is now complete and operational in all 254 counties of the Lone Star State—to the tune of $72 million.

The new system, known as eFileTexas, has been available in the 10 most populous counties in the state since Jan. 1, 2014. In December 2012, the Texas Supreme Court announced that e-filing would become mandatory for civil matters in all county and appellate courts by July 1, 2016.
