Sometimes, when a business gets infected with ransomware, the best option may be to pay the ransom and use the experience as a lesson for the future.

In a recent public program held in Boston, an FBI agent confirmed during a question and answer period that paying a ransom to cyber-attackers should be considered an option for the unlucky business that has their data encrypted by such viruses. But the FBI does not endorse paying the ransom. It is just an option among others.
