Especially in the years following the financial crisis, regulations surrounding financial services and the communication technologies those traders have accelerated. Unfortunately, though, Robert Cruz, senior director of information governance at Actiance says, technologies aimed at storing these communications for regulatory purposes has not changed.

“We see a lot of the technologies in this space, and they’re 10 or 15 years old, originally designed and centered around email,” Cruz explained. “Ultimately, the volume of information that people are dealing with – and more importantly, the variety of information that people are dealing with – just indicates that there’s a need for a different answer.”
