Call it the DIY business app revolution. Weary of the security of public apps, and seeking to leverage their own IT capabilities to better serve their employees and operations, businesses in the legal industry and beyond are turning to, building and deploying proprietary apps at a record pace, according to mobile app management company Apperian’s 2016 Executive Enterprise Mobility Report.

The report, which surveyed executives of multiple industries, found that over half of companies offer at least two enterprise apps, with 23 percent of large organizations with over 10,000 employees offering more than 20. And the amount is expected to vastly grow, with 87 percent of companies surveyed declaring they will expand app portfolio over the year.
