Analytics, and the ability to keep that data secure, are two of the greatest driving forces behind the evolution of how business is practiced. Verizon Enterprise Solutions and Splunk Enterprise Security Solutions are betting that pairing the two specialties will give organizations an edge against cyberthreats, and the companies are joining forces to provide a more robust security platform.

The aim of the move is to provide threat detection capabilities to government agencies and enterprises that are driven by analytics. Verizon noted in a statement that the alliance is a response to the growing number of cyberthreats facing enterprises today, and that their effort is addressing a need for a “more sophisticated” approach to risk management.
