Cyberattacks have evolved well beyond being just a technology issue. Multi-practice law firm Holland & Hart, for example, is positioning itself to help clients manage risks posed by cyberthreats, announcing the appointment of risk management veteran Matt Sorenson as an attorney focusing on cybersecurity.

Sorenson brings to the firm over a decade of experience managing risk from both IT and legal perspectives. Obtaining his JD in 2010, he has consulted organizations on cyber issues like information security, cloud contracting, data breach responses, and policy development. Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Sorenson spent over five years as an IT compliance officer for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this role, Sorenson assisted in the oversight of the church’s information security program, which stretches across nearly 60 countries and has over 60 business lines, Holland & Hart noted in a statement.
