There is a continual threat from ransomware – especially since the start of 2016 – for lawyers and other professionals. The risk is made even worse with 28 new strains found over the past four months, according to KnowBe4.

Moreover, some of the new variants are the result of copycat cyber criminals, the firm warned, as the new actors are using new techniques, approaches, attack vectors, and code platforms, as well as new ways to extort money from victims.
