Accellion has been given “in process” security certification from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), including for the kiteworks solution. Looking ahead, the company expects full FedRAMP certification later this year for the enterprise offering.

A government-wide program, FedRAMP provides a standard for security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services, according to the General Services Administration. The framework is seen as saving an estimated 30-40 percent of government costs, as well as both time and staff requirements used to conduct redundant agency security assessments, the GSA said.
