The advent of cloud computing and SaaS brought an agility and range to e-discovery that was sorely needed in a landscape where data is primarily through a variety of mobile devices, as opposed to a single workstation or hard drive. And as data grows even more pervasive and discovery needs more focused, legal tech vendor are aiming to fine tune their e-discovery offerings.

iCONECT, for example, has launched Xplorer, a targeted e-discovery solution geared toward remote collections. The solution, with iCONECT markets for internal investigations, discovery requisitions, public record discovery and FOIA requests, can be deployed in a multitude of ways, including via USB drives and email, where a custodian can click a link to start the program on the device.
