From discovery to early case assessment and beyond, the ability to quickly and efficiently search through tranches of data is vital for any attorney. But for all the advances in search technology, legal tech has been slow to adopt, until quite recently. While some in the industry are now focused are creating search engines that tackle legal-specific needs, others are instead working with belief that in order to function most effectively, searching, like emailing or browsing the internet, needs to be personalized for each and every legal professional.

Discovery automation firm Logikcull, for example, recently announced the release of “FlexSearch,” an upgrade to its Culling Intelligence search engine that identifies and optimizes its functions around user search behavior. The company noted that the upgrade was the result of months of re-building its search engine from the ground up with new maps and indexes, and over 30,000 tests.
