E-discovery and information governance are usually reactive processes applied after the fact. Many law firms and legal department, after all, shift through their tranches of data only on request or compliance necessity. This is in part because, over the past decade, many were caught unprepared by Big Data’s massive growth. But for all the catch-up the legal industry is still doing, legal consulting and solution firm Morae Legal believes that a sea change is underway, with greater emphasis on preparing ahead, through organizing and managing data at its source.
The company recently announced the launch of INCOMPASS, an information and discovery management framework that integrates e-discovery and information governance functions, in turn streamlining document identification and enabling broader governance capabilities.
