Artificial intelligence (AI) is less spectacular and fearsome than one might assume. After all, in the legal industry, its machine-learning capabilities have been applied to document and contract review more than anything else.

Yet, the fear and reticence it instills among lawyers is still very real. But fear or not, AI’s use by legal and regulatory professionals is growing, making it more unlikely such resistance can survive in the face of growing ethical and legal demands.
