It used to be that security technologies comprised a preventative toolset including firewall, antivirus, web and email gateways. There was a clear distinction between “do-it-yourself” security approaches and those more complex engagements that required outsourcing. But as the threat landscape became increasingly multi-faceted, and the techniques employed by cybercriminals more sophisticated, new security technologies designed to combat those threats require more resources and skills than the average IT security team can deploy.
Security breaches have affected organizations across verticals and industries, and range from small firms to global companies like Target and Home Depot. Law firms are firmly among those threatened by malware, and in particular, ransomware.
