Global organizations and firms may be getting better at managing their IT and software infrastructure, but data loss and system downtime are still significant challenges in the face of breaches, cloud storage and inadequate data management solutions, according to EMC’s Global Data Protection Index, a survey of 2,200 IT decision makers in organizations across 18 countries from 11 industries.

The survey found that a majority of respondent organizations’ data protection is inadequate to meet future demands.
