When collaborating on a case, both corporate and outside counsel will have a firm grasp of legalese and litigation processes, but they might not always be speaking the same language—especially when dealing with technology-assisted review (TAR).

“Definitely, I think people use [TAR] to mean a lot of different things,” Maura Grossman, research professor at the University of Waterloo, told the audience at the “Litigation Technology: Meeting the Changing Landscape” session of Bloomberg BNA’s “Taking Control of Corporate Discovery: What It Means for Outside Counsel” conference.
