Legal research company Casetext has released a tool that allows users to drop in legal briefs, memos, articles and other documents containing legal arguments and case citations, rather than entering keywords.

The Case Analysis Research Assistant, or CARA, uses existing legal documents to conduct a citation analysis instead of a search query, according to Jake Heller, founder and CEO of Palo Alto, California-based Casetext.
