You’ve likely heard that law firms are adverse to technology, resistant to changes driven by client demands for cheaper legal services and greater data security. While this may hold true for many, some major law firms are turning to technology to address client concerns and cut costs.

So revealed this year’s annual survey on law firm outsourcing trends conducted by legal service providers Williams Lea Tag and Sandpiper Partners. Announced this week, results indicate that technology is fueling law firm change and growth, with 53 percent using it for cost savings and 64 percent listing it as a “top target” for increased spending this year.
