When Legaltech News reported on EDRM co-founder George Socha joining BDO Consulting in late July, he teased at the end of our conversation that, for EDRM, “There just might be some changes coming, but nothing we are ready to announce yet. Stay tuned!”

Now, we know what those changes are—and they are massive indeed. On Aug. 24, Duke University School of Law announced that it would be acquiring EDRM, the leading standards organization for the e-discovery market. The organization will become part of Duke Law’s Center for Judicial Studies as part of an initiative to expand the center’s involvement in electronic discovery and information governance.
