As the legal technology industry enters the final third of 2016, it’s clear that some key trends have emerged—the importance of cybersecurity for all parts of the enterprise, the emphasis placed on the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure amendments, and the use of analytics in legal operations among them. But one trend in particular ties all of these together and perhaps supersedes them: the need to encourage greater knowledge and awareness of legal technology for all.

Last week, kCura, the maker of ubiquitous e-discovery product Relativity, announced a partnership with open-source legal technology community the Coalition of Technology Resources for Lawyers (CTRL). Through the partnership, one of many for CTRL with legal technology companies, the two will look to advance the discussion and knowledge of technology in the legal marketplace.
