Sullivan & Cromwell announced the addition of Nicole Friedlander, who recently served as chief of the Complex Frauds and Cybercrime Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, as special counsel in its litigation group.
During her nine years in the Southern District, Friedlander oversaw the investigations and prosecutions of a range of cybercrimes against the financial industry, including the 2014 breach of JPMorgan Chase, with compromised bank accounts of tens of millions of customers, and the indictment of seven Iranian nationals who perpetuated distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks against dozens of financial institutions.
