While lower storage and maintenance costs have led to an increasing amount of organizations to move to the cloud, security concerns prevent many from making the migration.

In an effort to address law firm cybersecurity concerns, cloud technology company Clio, which specializes in practice management software, began working with cloud security provider CloudMask to better secure data as it is created and passed between law firms and clients. This week, CloudMask announced the new encryption capabilities resulting from the partnership, which include permission controls that cover data both inside Clio and when sent to other platforms, such as those beyond the law firm or client’s control like Gmail or Dropbox.
