While U.S. lawyers have developed a reputation as roadblocks to technological advancement, the international legal technology marketplace is becoming a hotbed for innovation. However, with “artificial intelligence” providers like Kira Systems partnering with U.K. law firms and Brunei and Singapore leading in the movement toward paperless courtrooms , the future is well underway and U.S. legal professionals are taking note.

Sensing a market opportunity, RAVN Systems—a U.K.-based technology company that builds AI solutions for finance, real estate and legal markets—has partnered with Fireman & Co., a consultancy that serves corporate legal departments and law firms. Announced on Oct. 17, the partnership will serve as a gateway for RAVN to bring its machine learning-enabled enterprise search technology to the North American legal market. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed at this time.
