A global patent agency has developed artificial intelligence software that is able to automatically translate technical patent documents with a high degree of accuracy.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a United Nations agency that promotes the global protection of patents, said the “groundbreaking” tool uses “cutting-edge neural machine” technology to translate technical patent documents into a second language in a style and syntax that more closely resembles common usage.
