Attorney John Rosenthal wasn’t surprised by the results of a yearslong study evaluating how human reviewers compare to technology-assisted alternatives responding to discovery requests.

Amid aggressive public relations campaigns by advocates and providers on both sides, the study validated what years of experience had taught the litigator: The best systems for electronic discovery combine people and software for technology-assisted reviews, or TAR.
