Given the sheer volume of electronically stored information (ESI) many large organizations hold, in-house counsel know firsthand the challenges of managing and preparing data for litigation. But instead of shying away from such challenges, many in-house counsel are tackling it head on.

To highlight these efforts on the ground, Legaltech News spoke with corporate attorneys, an operations professional, and a law school e-discovery program founder, on their e-discovery experiences. Four of these individuals were listed as finalists for Zapproved’s Corporate E-Discovery Hero Award, which the company established this year as a platform-agnostic honor for e-discovery experts and in-house legal professionals that demonstrate excellence in e-discovery strategy and process. One, Michael Arkfeld, won Zapproved’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Here are highlights from the conversation:
