IT security professionals appear to be very aware of the cyber risks posed by the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)—but more preparation is needed.

And that preparation is needed quickly. The IIoT is made up of connected devices in critical infrastructure involving energy, finance, government, healthcare and utilities, according to Tripwire. And according to a recent Tripwire survey, 96 percent of companies questioned expect an increase in security attacks on the IIoT in 2017. However, 51 percent said that they don’t feel prepared for the sort of attacks that “abuse, exploit or maliciously leverage insecure IIoT devices.
