The internet of things (IoT) is in widespread use at college campuses, and that’s only expected to increase in the near future. This will likely increase the amount of data that could be requested in legal actions—be it through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests or related e-discovery.
But there are some important considerations and exemptions that could limit the use of FOIA in attempts to release that data.
