Working as a general counsel in a technology company requires more just than knowledge of corporate legal issues. Being at the forefront of innovation allows legal departments to tackle some of the most complex and exciting legal technology issues of the day, from data security and ethics to patent protection and infringement.

Suffice to say, having such a career is not for the faint of heart. Just ask Kevin Boyle, who in April 2017 was appointed senior vice president and general counsel at Vencore, a provider of information solutions and analytics for the U.S. government. A veteran of the technology sector, Boyle will manage the company’s legal and ethical obligations, working with other teams to ensure client confidence and internal security and compliance.
