The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced Wednesday an initiative designed to engage innovators in the financial technology industry.

CFTC acting chairman J. Christopher Giancarlo detailed the program that will provide “21st century regulation for today’s digital markets,” dubbed LabCFTC, in prepared remarks to be delivered at the New York Stock Exchange Wednesday afternoon, but released earlier to members of the media.
