All mobile phone carriers promise nationwide coverage, robust signal strength and bargain rates. What you'll rarely hear them boast about is call clarity.
There's a good reason why carriers are reluctant to discuss service quality, since mobile phone call clarity typically ranges somewhere between "marginally acceptable" and "terrible." As carriers try to cram as many calls as possible into a finite amount of spectrum space, audio suffers to the point where most mobile phone calls sound much worse than comparable landline calls (which have actually improved in quality over the past couple of decades).
