There are a lot of costs that go into a start-up and usually there’s minimal money to pay for them. But Scott Townsend in Stites & Harbison’s business blog explains why one of those costs should always be creating a proper legal entity for your new enterprise. Here’s why:

• Branding: “A legal entity can be an excellent vehicle to facilitate brand recognition in the marketplace for a new business,” says Townsend. To capitalize on market value that may accrue due to this recognition, a legal entity is necessary, he warns.
