In a recent post on Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin’s Data Breach blog, David Shannon breaks down last month’s data breach at Adobe Systems Inc. that potentially exposed millions of Adobe customers’ information to hackers.

Adobe first said the breach affected close to 3 million customers, but then changed their tune. After announcing the breach exposed closer to 38 million customers, a data security firm called the Last Post reported finding information accessed from Adobe user accounts of an underground website “frequented by cyber criminals.” This meant more than 152 million users’ information was found on their website. Shannon reports Adobe confirmed this information was found on the website, but said the information itself was not significant.
