Apple Inc. has been snacking on tech startups to improve its own products for decades, and last week it tried its first bite of the social web.
Apple bought Twitter Inc.’s Topsy Labs for $200 million last week. The website allows users to search social media content using keywords or to analyze tweets for their sentimentgiving Apple unprecedented access to a “fire hose” of Twitter data, according to Hannah Kuchler of the Financial Times.
