Siri may save you from getting lost on a road trip, or from a loved one’s rage when you forget a birthday, but a new study suggests smartphones can also save lives. Ray Mullman in a post on Poliakoff & Associates’ Nursing Home Blog explains how.

According to Mullman, 93,000 nursing home deaths a year occur from drug-related events, such as side effects and negative interactions. But a new study in the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association suggests software, accessible on the smartphones, can minimize this risk, thus also minimizing litigation when things go sideways.
