As law firms strive to be lean, with predictable pricing, more are choosing to offshore their document processing and complex support services. According to an article by Crystal Williams in The Global Legal Post, Baker & McKenzie is planning to build another “back office” to handle those needs after its Philippines location demonstrated how efficient and cost effective offshoring its work can be.
Williams reports that Baker & McKenzie’s CEO, Craig Courter, declined to offer a time table or identify potential sites but says the world’s second largest firm is looking for both competitive advantages and cheaper costs.
