NetDocuments, a cloud-based document and email management company, announced the release of two new technologies: ndOffice and ndConnect. The new applications run in the company’s cloud-computing content management and collaboration service. Both products embed core document management functions directly into Microsoft Office, Office 365, SkyDrive and Dropbox.

ndOffice has reengineered Microsoft Office integration to function inside Office applications, which means metadata tagging, file-open, file-save and folder and workspace navigation are all now available directly within the Office application aka Windows Explorer. And ndConnect allows users to synchronize content from Dropbox and SkyDrive directly into folders in their NetDocuments repository. This means attorneys can securely access documents outside of their office, e.g., from their clients’ offices, through Dropbox without the need to upgrade to enterprise-grade security and compliance.
