A few weeks ago, I found myself in the reception area of a large law firm.(We’ll leave out the name to protect the innocent.) After hopping cabs formost of the day, I was hoping to find an open computer to check e-mailbefore my meeting. So I asked the receptionist if there was a guest computeror an open connection that I could use to access my e-mail account. (No, Idon’t carry a BlackBerry.)
“We have outfitted the entire conference center with wireless,” sheannounced to my pleasant surprise. “You are welcome to use it as much as youlike.”
