Network software maker Citrix Systems Inc. on Tuesday said it had acquired privately held application security provider Teros Inc. for undisclosed terms. The deal is the fourth acquisition in less than a year, and furthers Citrix’s strategy of increasing its foothold in the on-demand space. “There’s a high-growth market for Web-based applications,” Michael Cristinziano, Citrix’s vice president, mergers and acquisitions, said in a deal Monday, ahead of his company’s scheduled acquisition announcement.

Described as a tuck-in acquisition, Teros and its 25 to 50 employees would be integrated into NetScaler, becoming the company’s Application Networking Group.
