The resignation of McAfee Inc.’s chairman and CEO, George Samenuk, and the firing of its president, Kevin Weiss, this week have revived speculation that the second-largest maker of antivirus software might soon be acquired.
“We see the potential for being acquired as the main reason for support to the stock,” J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. analysts Sterling Auty, Lauren Ye and Saket Kalia wrote in a note Wednesday after the executive exits were announced.
