Say ouch.

Kimberly-Clark Corp. and spin-off Halyard Health Inc. were hit with a $454 million fraud verdict in Los Angeles federal court on Friday in a lawsuit over surgical gowns that allegedly failed to protect medical personnel from infection.

Represented by a team of top litigators from King & Spalding, the companies have already said they'll appeal the verdict—$3.9 million in compensatory damages and a stunning $450 million in punitive damages.
