Honorable mention for Litigator of the Week goes to Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan's William Burck and Alex Spiro for their work on behalf of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who was charged with soliciting prostitution. On Wednesday, I wrote about how they succeeded in getting all significant evidence against their client (including alleged video footage of the 77-year-old getting an erotic massage) thrown out by the court.

Another QE partner, Derek Shaffer, deserves a shout-out as well. He convinced the D.C. Circuit to reinstate liability claims against Iran and Sudan over their alleged support of four deadly terrorist bombings. The district court had ruled that the claims were filed too late, but Friday's ruling means the six cases can go forward.

We also want to recognize Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick's David Frederick. Given Lit Daily's lower court focus, we almost never pick SCOTUS wins for Litigator of the Week. But if we did, he'd have a great shot for his 5-4 win before the high court on behalf of private antitrust plaintiffs challenging Apple's control of iPhone apps.
