Latham-Watkins-Office-SignLitigators from Latham & Watkins last week racked up a $666 million arbitration win on behalf of DXC Technology in a fight with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company.

Latham's Jamie Wine was lead trial counsel, along with partners Abid Qureshi and Douglas Yatter. Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher represented HPE.

According to an Aug. 20 filing by HPE with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the dispute stemmed from the separation and distribution agreement between the two companies.

In 2017, HPE formed DXC in a combined spin off/ merger of its enterprise service segment.

The award consists of $631.8 million in damages and $34.3 million in pre-award interest, as well as post-award interest at 3% per annum compounding quarterly until payment.

"While the arbitration result has been publicly disclosed, the arbitration proceeding is otherwise confidential," Wine said. "We are pleased to have obtained this outcome for DXC."
