Measured by campaign donations, lawyers are making a much bigger impact for the leading Democrat than for the top two Republicans combined in the 20-candidate open race for a Georgia U.S. Senate seat.
But the role of lawyers has become a campaign issue between the Republicans, as incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler has attacked Rep. Doug Collins for representing criminal defendants in his private practice.
